Imagine an oversized net curtain (without the patterns) and you will begin to get some idea of what a geo-textile is.
This biodegradable netting is laid in lengths 35 metres long and 1.2 metre wide over steep sided haggs and groughs where heather brash would simply slip off. It not only reduces erosion but also traps sown seed (see phase 4) to aid germination rates on these steep areas.
Geo-jute is also laid by hand and biodegradable pegs are used to fix the netting place at a rate of 4 per m2.
Since 2003 we have laid over 100 miles of this material. This equates to travelling from Bramall Lane, Sheffield (Sheffield United FC) to Old Trafford, Manchester (Manchester United FC) and back!
